One area where LaserTech has seen particularly strong results is Sever’s disease, a condition that is common in growing athletes but often difficult to treat effectively. Sever’s occurs when the lower leg bone grows faster than the Achilles tendon can keep pace with, placing significant stress on the tendon and its attachment point at the heel. It causes heel pain that can range from uncomfortable to debilitating, and it frequently sidelines young athletes for extended periods.

Knee pain is one of the most common complaints in adolescent athletes. Jumper’s knee (patellar tendinopathy) develops from repetitive jumping and landing and is particularly common in basketball, volleyball, and track athletes. Ligament strains and other knee injuries are also frequent in young athletes across contact and non-contact sports.
Overhead sports including baseball, softball, swimming, tennis, and volleyball place significant repetitive stress on the shoulder. Young athletes can develop rotator cuff irritation, labral injuries, and other shoulder conditions that, left unaddressed, can affect them well into adulthood.
Hip pain in young athletes often involves the labrum, the tendons surrounding the joint, or stress-related conditions driven by growth and repetitive loading. Hip injuries can be slow to heal and are often undertreated in adolescent patients.
Ankle sprains are among the most common sports injuries at any age, but recurring or poorly healed sprains in young athletes can create lasting instability. Achilles tendonitis, driven by overuse and the demands of running and jumping sports, is also common in this age group and can become chronic if the underlying tendon irritation isn’t addressed.
Overuse injuries of the elbow aren’t limited to adults. Young athletes who play racket sports, golf, or baseball can develop both lateral and medial epicondylitis, causing pain and weakness that interferes with performance and daily activities.
Gymnasts, wrestlers, and athletes in sports requiring weight-bearing on the hands are particularly susceptible to wrist injuries, including growth plate stress and ligament strains.
Back and neck injuries in young athletes can range from muscle strains to more significant disc or structural issues. These deserve careful evaluation and a treatment approach that supports healing rather than simply masking pain.
